No Corona is a series of 39 pieces created over 3 lockdowns during the Coronavirus19 global pandemic. The pieces display figures, icons, and characters who exhibited majestical behavior, but never received their crown, all in traditional beaded Embera technique.
The collection features Divine, Marilyn Monroe, Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston, Bette Davis and Joan Crawford, Joan of Arc, Joe Exotic, JT Leroy, Harry and Megan, Judy Garland, Water Mercado, Fidel Castro and Roux Panchi.
This collection gained selection for the digital group exhibition ¿Que se teje en la pandemia? (What has been woven in the pandemic?) in the Museum La Tertulia in Cali. 2020.
In 2023 a selection of No Corona was picked by MUMA ( Museo de Artes de Miguel Urrutia) in Bogota. MUMA is part of El Banco de la República de Colombia which is the central bank in Colombia. The pieces were selected for the exhibition Sembrar La Duda: Indicios sobre las representaciones indígenas en Colombia ( Cultivating doubt: evidencing indigenous representations in Colombia) in October 2023. The exhibition reflected on indigenous cultural productions which have been ignored by the narratives of Colombian art history.
The Banco de la República bought 16 pieces for their permanent Art Collection with Millones de Maneras named as the artist. The Banco de la República is a noted collector owning one of the most important art collections in the country.
In May 2024 the remaining pieces of No Corona formed part of Photo +:Biennale for Visual and Sonic Me- dia, Dusseldorf, Germany, part of To Produce The Sound Of Falling Stones
