[ Description ]
A Catwalk show in Medellin Colombia, part of a free Diversity festival, organized by the city’s Mayor in 2019. The show consulted the Embera community in every aspect, including casting, defining the aesthet- ic for hair and make up alongside sponsors, L’Oreal, styling the show, and in the most vital garment selec- tion. The festival organized transport, hotels and a fee for the women who travelled from their home reservation, Karmata Rua.
Students from University La Colegiatura participated helping add finishing touches to garments and dressing the models.
Images from the show were published in a book titled Proud South by Lidewij Edelkoort.
